Appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage following reported dangerous driving in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a reported dangerous driving incident in Bournemouth.

At 3.32pm on Wednesday 20 August 2025, a black Fiat 500, which had previously been reported as stolen from the Poole area, was observed by officers in Spencer Road in Bournemouth.

Officers followed the vehicle where it reportedly made off at speed and failed to stop and then continued to track the vehicle before it was successfully brought to a stop on the A338 Wessex Way.

The road was temporarily closed to allow officers to safely deal with the incident.

Following enquiries, a 26-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He has been released under investigation as officers continue their investigation.

Police Constable Daniel Blagden, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the areas of Holdenhurst Road, Queens Park, Richmond Park, Wimborne Road and the A338 and saw what happened or has relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.

“I would also urge any residents in the aforementioned areas to please review their home CCTV or doorbell cameras to see if they have captured anything of relevance to our investigation.

“We would also like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding while road closures were in place.”
